Introduction
I’m not here to attack MAGA, and I’m not here to make fun of cucks. What I’m here to do is raise public awareness that the intersection of these groups is experiencing exponential growth, and that left unchecked this could become an epidemic. In fact, it may already be too late as the boundaries between subgroups continue to blur and fade into each other. See below artist rendering to grasp the gravity of the situation.
Etymology
Cuck or “cuckold” was first recorded in the 13th century, derived from the French word for cuckoo bird. The cuckoo bird lays its eggs in other birds’ nests, making it an apt metaphor for a parent unknowingly raising children that aren’t biologically theirs. This definition as a husband betrayed by an unfaithful wife remained mostly unchanged for the next few centuries, and the cuckold even became a common character in plays during the Renaissance.
In the late 20th century with the rise of modern fetish communities, the word ceased to mean infidelity. Instead cuck now referred to a consensual kink where a man was not only aware of the activity of his partner but encouraged it or even participated. By the early 2000s, this had become an internet meme (aka, watching from the cuck chair) and fully entered into pop culture.
Today the word has been co-opted by MAGA as an insult. Below definition courtesy of ChatGPT:
In MAGA circles, “cuck” is a loaded term meant to attack someone's strength, loyalty, and masculinity—not just personally, but politically. It's about policing ideological boundaries and signaling that someone is not “tough” or “patriotic” enough.
We don’t have to look far to see how widespread the new context is. This is White House communications director Steven Cheung mocking a meeting of anti-Trump Republicans:
Or Donald Trump Jr rallying online supporters with a sophisticated meme in the lead up to the election:
Epidemic
Of great interest is that at the same time as the insult has gained prominence in the MAGA toolkit, we have observed unprecedented levels of simping1 from that same cohort! It is of course normal to voice your support for a leader that you respect. If that voice happens to be a little louder than normal during times of great political strife, surely that would also be unremarkable.
But increasingly, MAGA behavior cannot be described as merely voicing support. Instead, it rather closely resembles worship. The recent viral Ambassador Huckabee tweet is reprocured below for context:
While investigating this disturbing development, I stumbled across a scary realization: this is not a localized phenomenon. Just consider for a moment recent legislation proposed by MAGA republicans:
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) introduced legislation to carve Trump's face onto Mount Rushmore, describing his accomplishments as deserving "the highest recognition and honor on this iconic national monument."
Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY) introduced H.R. 792, proposing to make June 14, Trump's birthday, a federal holiday called "Trump’s Birthday and Flag Day," to honor both Flag Day and Trump's contributions.
Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) introduced the "Golden Age Act of 2025," proposing that all $100 bills feature Trump's portrait, replacing Benjamin Franklin. Gill argued that Trump has done more to bring America into a "golden age" than any other president.
Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) introduced H.R. 1761, the “Donald J. Trump $250 Bill Act,” proposing the creation of a $250 Federal Reserve note featuring Trump's likeness. Rep. Wilson emphasized that the $250 bill would be the "most valuable bill for the most valuable President."
Of course, these examples are from politicians who have clear incentives to flatter Trump as they jockey for his favor. But what makes this a public safety matter is that this epidemic seems to have spread beyond the mere politically incentivized. In fact, even the wealthy elites are now uncontrollably prostrating themselves online.
Bill Ackman is worth $9 billion, and he can’t seem to go more than a day without logging into twitter for a quick cucking session. This is extremely concerning.
Here he is popping up to praise Trump’s tariff strategy, which was universally ridiculed and sparked such a collapse in financial markets that it was abandoned a week later.
One bright spot is that the severity of the simping seemed to catch the attention of fellow billionaire Cliff Asness, who luckily seems to recognize the problem and is doing his best to raise public awareness.
Conclusion
This is a quick Public Service Announcement to call attention to a rapidly evolving cultural phenomenon with dangerous consequences. What started as a harmless and amusing internet meme has now become a public health risk. Simping has become normalized among MAGA politicians, who are now competing with each other over who can kneel the lowest. Recent examples of billionaires who have already succumbed to the epidemic is particularly concerning, as they should be the least susceptible with nothing to gain from public simping displays. And if it’s already starting to affect them… Please check in on your MAGA friends. It may already be too late.
*field research indicates the word simp is often used interchangeably with cuck
